Our Nocturnal Raccoon Visitor

Well this is our little raccoon visitor who drops by from time to time. We have a stray cat - well not really a stray but more of a neighborhood cat that we've named 'Clarksdale' because, well, he/she hangs out in our neighborhood - and we put food out for him/her during the day. On days that Clarksdale doesn't finish his food and I forget to pick up the leftovers from our back patio area just outside the den door we often get a visitor. Sometimes it is the heinously homely o'possum Opie, but on this night it is the raccoon. We have yet to name him - I may do a 'name the raccoon' poll on here if we ever get around to giving him a name.
Raccoons are cute but you don't want them in the house ala Opie who would sneak in through the garage and into the kitchen to nibble on the cat food crack.
Anyway it is really funny when both the raccoon and the o'possum are hanging out, milling around, and the cats are out. There is no fighting just a great deal of concerned staring from our animals. But it is rather funny to watch them all interact.

  1. Love your animals, the indoor ones as well as the outdoor ones -- we get a 2-fer this way: fun MCM stuff as well as all these cuties. Nice blog! (Fyi, viva la wood. Love it in the kitchen, too, with those gingerbread touches.)
